Chapter I : Mythic Genesis of the Five Elements

Chapter I : Mythic Genesis of the Five Elements

In ancient times, the Classic of Mountains and Seas was not merely a compendium of mythical beasts and sacred peaks, but also the code governing the flow of cosmic energies.

「The Five Elements」—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—constitute the foundational laws governing the mountain-sea cosmos, while crystal serves as the “energy vessel” crystallized from the essence of heaven and earth over eons. Ancients referred to crystal as “water jade,” “water-green,” “stone of Kunwu,” or “transformed essence of yang,”
believing them to be the materialized essence of mountain spirits and the radiance of sun and moon.

Thus,「The Five Elements」 are the structure of energy, the mountains and seas are the source of myth,Crystals are the embodiment of energy.

Crystal Space reconstructs these three into a complete world: Each crystal corresponds to an elemental energy, embodies a mountain-sea power, and safeguards a life theme.

At the dawn of creation, when Heaven and Earth first parted, Yin and Yang separated, and the Five Energies emerged. These Five Energies transformed into visible and invisible forces:

  • Metal embodies the energy of sternness and decay: like autumn winds, like metal and stone, governing clarity and letting go.
  • Wood embodies the energy of growth and vitality: like spring buds, like the Azure Dragon, governing growth and hope.
  • Water embodies the moisturizing energy: like the profound sea, like the Yinglong dragon, governing wisdom and fluidity.
  • Fire embodies the fiery energy: like the blazing sun, like the Zhu Rong fire god, governing courage and vitality.
  • Earth embodies the nurturing energy: like the myriad mountains, like the Earth Mother, governing stability and belonging.

The Five Elements are not static but cyclical and fluid: Endlessly generating, balancing, and coexisting. Each crystal embodies the crystallized essence of the Five Elements' energies.
